Description
This picture was taken on a road trip to California. The Beast in the title refers to the times in life when you experience the loss of love. The fire and smoke struck me as if it were a graph of human experience, plotted on a timeline with dark astral clouds.
The Buddha taught that desire and attachment were the source of human misery. Christ & Krishna loved all with great unconditional love, knowing their was a Divine presence in every atom. Pain is a prod to quicken evolutionary consciousness. I really don't like that, but it doesn't change the truth.
That same day I arrived in Lake Tahoe, a place with many emotional memories in my life. My dreams that night were singular & unique. There were no visual images or sounds in them, only deep emotional feelings of longing, heartache, and suffering. I awoke the next day feeling devastated, but knowing that a deep lesson was given to me about the nature of life. The goal of life is to go from the finite to the infinite, from caring about only a few to truly loving all.
